Summer Meeting of the Ohio Waterfowler Association Saturday, August 9, 2008

Location: Cardinal Center

Meeting was called to order and opened by Mike Petkovic

Motion to waive the previous meeting minutes was made by Ky Krause and seconded by Darren Brooks.

Finance:
Financial report was given by Secretary/Treasure Dan Boone:  Dan read the amounts of checks/expenses and gave deposit amounts.  Current balance was $6240.92 check book, bank statements and deposit slip were available for any member wishing to view.

Ky Krause asked to if the organization had prepared a budget, officers explained that a budget had not been made due to the lack of fixed expenses we had. Mr. Krause also asked if the organization had explored the option of preparing a newsletter via email rather than the print flyer.

North Zone:

2. Wood Duck Challenge- Ohio Outdoor News—Donated youth memberships
3. Bill Snader—End of March (25) Wood duck nesting boxes build day
4. 31 members showed up for Handicap Blind Build with ODNR
5. Darke County—Jeff Erwin- Darke County Fair Display

Bootcamp recap & plan for next year

Needs: Umbrella Financially. As well as member assistance
Insurance “Liability” policy was discussed.

Ken Parrott moved to give the officers “Executive power to act of behalf of OWA” in engaging the Bootcamp planners and offering support, seconded by Darren Brooks.

Sponsorship Proposal:
A plan was unveiled for both Individual and Corporate Sponsorship, each having different levels.
Ken Parrott motioned to break up the payments of the course of the year
Ky Krause seconded the motion.

There was a reminder of upcoming Officer Elections in February.

New Business:
Bill Snader spoke with Bill Kohler District 5 contact in regard to a Blind Build in Spring Valley and Pat Barucha in regard to the handicap blind, Butler County MRDD to assist with grants.

Bill asked for more post it note with OWA info on them to be made.
